daily rituals

the entire front of the barn slides open to make this indoor - outdoor barefoot rustic Devon living, perfect for peace and quiet within nature. The barn is situated within its own private garden space with a willow circle and silver birch circle of trees with hammock, drinking water from a spring fed direct to the taps, and a fire bowl area for camp fires under the stars. You can be completely private but also be aware that (only if you are dog friendly) then black lab Maxi may come over to say hello at times at the neighbours will at times be tending to their veg or feeding their chickens (they can't see into your garden but you might hear them). This is a retreat centre, a place of peace, so whilst we encourage you to hang back, laugh and let loose in the beautiful vibes around, we also encourage limited alcohol smoking etc - ie this is not a party den.

explore

...river, sea, moor, devon hills....Up a track off a country lane near Staverton, near Totnes, the Rose Barn Devon is between moorland and sea. Although it feels like you are in a secluded spot, you are actually near many amenities, only a few miles from the thriving bohemian Market town of Totnes. You are surrounded by Riverford organic farm land and rolling hills and can walk easily to both the Farm Shop and Field Kitchen restaurant for fresh produce as well as Wild Swimming Spots. Or you can walk further afield and go to Dartington estate where there are cafes and arts cinema. Although the sea is fairly nearby, if you venture a bit further on for a 40 minute drive, you will find glorious wild south coastal beaches of white sand, sea and surf with surf schools, or in the other direction you can explore Tors and Standing Circles of Dartmoor along with Hembury Castle and Buckfast Abbey.

what you need to know...

* The barn is in the middle of the countryside, easily accessible but 'off-road' down a drivable private track with parking yard.

* The barn sits in its own private garden with but it is in a tiny hamlet with a couple of houses nearby and you share a driveway with a cottage...so you will not see anyone but you may hear people at times on the next door small holding ... expect to hear the neighbours occasionally walk or drive along the track behind the barn to attend to their smallholding adjacent field - attending to bees, loading logs and feeding chickens ...

*This tiny hamlet is about quiet living nature lovers, so please be aware that although you may hear people or a grass cutter at times, this is a place for those seeking quiet country living, and it is not a party den for people looking for celebrations.

*This is about rustic glamping - in the evening you can relax by the fire bowl under the stars, play table tennis in the hang out area, or if it gets chilly you can heat up the bedroom and kitchen areas with gas central heated radiators. The upstairs yoga temple is only available if pre arranged & is gas heated as well as having a wood burner.

*There is a shed in your private garden which the owner may very occasionally access but will not disturb you.

*Please read full T & Cs before booking because by booking you must agree to them. Thank you.
